Getting OTHERS for Leaders and Influencers

Purpose

Everybody’s brain is different, we are all neurodiverse. Learning how to build ‘true’ psychological safety so your employees can bring their authentic selves to work every day builds mental health and wellbeing, employee engagement, productivity, and innovation.

Getting OTHERS for Leaders and Influencers is the second in the Getting GOT series where leaders and key influencers within the business learn to build ‘true’ psychological safety in a supportive environment with their peer team. Creating the opportunity for learning and self-reflection, while further building their personal toolkit before developing new skills with their direct report team in the Getting TEAMS workshop.

Audience / Maximum number of participants

Leaders and influencers i.e., people and capability, project managers, IT, client interfacing employees, anyone who influences others in your business – min 8, max 16 per cohort.

Two packages available

1. Basic Package

Basic package includes pre-learning and then the workshop.

1. Pre-learning

Introduces models and concepts in a fun interactive way. These concepts build on the models and learning undertaken in the Getting SELF series allowing participants to see how their learning on SELF can be translated to OTHERS.  Pre work takes approximately 60 mins

2. Workshop 

Workshop is focused as much as possible on practising skills learnt in earlier sessions.  At the end of the workshop individuals will be able to:

  • Build a Psychologically Safe environment when leading others and teams who think differently
  • Facilitate a Psychologically Safe environment enabling neurodiverse strengths to lead an engaged productive, innovative and highly functioning team
  • Promote Mental Health & Wellbeing by acknowledging individual psychological needs
  • Drive effective decision-making with care and accountability to achieve organisational outcomes.

During the workshop participants will tailor tools to suit their individual needs, with a range of tools in their toolbox for different situations and start skills development to build confidence with new information.  As they did in the Getting Self series participants will also pick one new skill to work on in the coming weeks. This can be seen as an opportunity to further refine the skill they previously worked on or choose a different area they have identified as having the opportunity for growth.

Content

1. eLearning

Introduces models and concepts in a fun interactive way. These concepts build on the models and learning undertaken in the Getting SELF series allowing participants to see how their learning on SELF can be translated to OTHERS.

2. Online group session

The purpose of the group session is:

  • Meet your DivergenThinking clinical psychologist and lived experience facilitators and others in your cohort
  • Discuss key concepts and share learning from readings to further develop knowledge
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Prepare you for the workshop
  • Enable DivergenThinking to understand how we can best be of service to you.

3. Workshop

Half day workshop is focused as much as possible on practising skills learnt in earlier sessions.  At the end of the workshop individuals will be able to:

  • Facilitate a Psychologically Safe environment enabling neurodiverse strengths to lead an engaged, productive, innovative and highly functioning team

4. Coaching

Follow up one-on-one coaching session to discuss how they found learning to date, the one skill they chose to work on and reflections on how that process is going.  Identifying what is working well, where their learning edges are and dig deeper into where to from here for the coming weeks.

5. Supervision

Cohort catch-up to share and discuss course learning to date, ask questions about tricky situations of our clinical psychologist and lived experienced facilitators, while reflecting on what others are doing and learning. This opportunity for reflection as a group has the ability to lead to a higher level of understanding around others while allowing for in-depth personal analysis.

6. Coaching

Follow up one-on-one coaching sessions to discuss how they experienced learning to date, what is working well, what is not working so well and dig deeper into where to from here. Again, this is a key opportunity for identifying growth areas and analysing readiness for the Getting TEAMS programme.
